As a model for regional visioning efforts nationwide, Envision Utah has been recognized with the Urban Land Institute's Award for Excellence, the Alliance for Regional Stewardship's Gold Recognition Award, and the American Planning Association's Daniel Burnham Award. For his role in helping shape the strategy for the Salt Lake region's future transportation system, Grow received the American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Distinguished Service Award in October 2003.

He is currently involved in the visioning process for Southern Louisiana's following the Hurricane Katrina disaster. He recently participated in an Urban Land Institute advisory services panel that advised concerning Florida's growth planning process and has made presentations about regional visioning to committees of the Florida House and Senate, as well as the Florida Century Commission. He served as an advisor to Oregon's "Big Look" Task force considering potential changes to that state's growth management system following Ballot Measure 37, and is leading the Phoenix region's East Valley Partnership in creating a visioning process for "Superstition Vistas," a 275-square mile tract of Arizona school trust land in the nation's fastest growing state.
Mr. Grow holds degrees in engineering and law and has had a diverse career, including practicing law, leading and supporting regional visioning processes, being president of a large manufacturing company, and chairing a national trade association.
